When asked about returning back to running, Allyson Felix is living her best life. The most decorated U.S. sprinter in history is focused on raising her four-year-old daughter, Camryn. In an interview with PEOPLE, the 11-time Olympic gold medal-winning runner said that while she misses the sport, she doesn't “feel the itch” to return after her retirement from track and field this past summer.

“I feel like I will always miss it because I love to compete and I just thrive off of that,” she told PEOPLE. The sprinter is also excited about growing her company—shoe brand Saysh—and continuing her ongoing partnership with lifestyle performance brand Athleta.

“I don’t doubt my decision at all,” she added. “I feel very confident in that, but I do miss the training. I miss teammates and traveling for competitions. All of those things, I’ll definitely continue to miss, but I’ve also, this is where I’m supposed to be.”

After leaving Nike, Felix joined Athleta as a partner with Olympic gymnast, Simone Biles. In The Power of She Collective, the two women are leading 11 elite women athletes as a new empowerment initiative. The initiative launched on March 1 in honor of Women’s History Month. When asked about the new Athleta initiative, Felix tells PEOPLE, “We’re just really excited about this. Doing things differently and bringing together an amazing group of women to celebrate all of them holistically and all of their differences.”

In addition to Felix’s work with Athleta and Saysh, she is also embracing her role as a mother—the biggest inspiration for her current work. She shares that young Camryn isn’t quite running yet, but enjoying tennis, soccer, and dance class. “I just want her to have fun,” Felix says.
